The concept behind Dutch Music Week is to introduce the world to the wide array of music that comes from Holland. Here are 5 acts from the classical, jazz, pop, rock and world traditons that have been recommended by Radio Netherland's Karien Guinee. All of them make music than you should explore.

His presence on both the contemporary and classical music scenes has provided an unprecedented boost to the prominence of contemporary Dutch music throughout the world.

This charismatic virtuoso gives performances that are high-spirited and technically dazzling, and, in her hands, the recorder is a sensuous, expressive instrument.



The cellist and gambist Jaap ter Linden is one of Europe's most prominent interpreters of baroque music.



Elly Ameling's annual tours and frequent appearances with the leading international orchestras have established her as one of the greatest singers of our age.

Toon Roos belongs to the best tenor sax players of Holland. He’s multi-faceted, plays in the most diverse ensembles, and when it comes to command of the sax, he stands out from all the rest.
