On February 15, over 300 west-coast entrepreneurs and small business owners had the rare opportunity to invest in an evening with Dragon Jim Treliving and the owners of two B.C. businesses who succeeded in sealing deals on this year's season of Dragons' Den.
Jim took the stage at downtown Vancouver's Goldcorp Centre for the Arts with pitchers Brian & Corin Mullins of Holy Crap breakfast cereal (Episode 7) and Doug Burgoyne of Frogbox (Episode 13) in a live town-hall style conversation moderated by Dragons' Den executive producer Tracie Tighe.
The event was sponsored and organized by
Small Business B.C..
The speakers answered questions about a host of topics including investor pitching, business planning, market sizing, business valuations and what it's like to work with a dragon. It was also an opportunity to promote the show's pitcher auditions currently underway in cities across the country for the upcoming Season 6 (see our audition page for a full list of dates and locations).
Look for an announcement soon about our next live Dragons' Den speaking event in Toronto, which will feature both dragons Jim Treliving and Kevin O'Leary along with a couple of successful pitchers from this season.
But the meantime watch this clip of Jim sharing his advice for potential pitchers :
