Where are we today?

The CBC documentary series Meltdown: The Secret History of the Secret History of the Global Financial Collapse made four key points:

-There were people directly responsible for the meltdown. We profile the most notorious of "The Men Who Crashed the World" in Episode One.

-This was bigger than Wall Street. The financial disaster swept across the world, as we report in Episode Two, "A Global Tsunami".

-Ordinarypeople were "Paying the Price". Massive layoffs and home foreclosures were common around the globe, as we show you in Episode Three.

-And we ask 'could it happen again?' in Episode Four, "After the Fall".

So what's the situation today?

None of the major players responsible for the meltdown have been found guilty of any crimes. A fragile world economy watches with worry as Greece lurches towards a sovereign debt default. And experts warn that a "perfect storm" of problems in the United States, a slowdown in China, European debt restructuring and stagnation in Japan could damage the global economy further.
