Victorin Mallet was often told that he probably had "Indian" roots, as do many Acadian families in New-Brunswick. He decided to research his own family's history and the history of other early settler families. Filmmaker Sonia Bonspille Boileau presents this fascinating film about his tenacious search and what he discovered about the history of early contact and intermarriage between French settlers and Aboriginal peoples in what is now New Brunswick.

Sonia Bonspille Boileau is a Mohawk from Oka and Kanesatake. She is a television producer working on children's programming with the Aboriginal production company, Nish Media in Gatineau. She won wide acclaim for her documentary Last Call Indian which tells the story of her journey to explore her Mohawk grandfather's life story and her Aboriginal roots.Read more
