Extended interviews with people from the 8th Fire TV series.
The Honourable René Dussault was co-chair, along with George Erasmus, of the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples (RCAP), which was initiated after the Oka crisis.
Beginning in 1991, Dussault and Erasmus travelled the country listening to thousands of testimonies. They delivered their final report in 1996, which included 440 recommendations aimed at making fundamental changes in the relationship between Aboriginals, non-Aboriginals and the Canadian government.
It's been fifteen years since the release of the historic, 4,000 page report. On October 27th 2011, Radio Canada producer, Carole Gagnon, interviewed Rene Dussault about what he feels has changed in the relationship since then and what still needs to be done.
