Dreams of Obama
Saturday July 4 at 10 pm ET/PT & Sunday July 5, 2009 at 8 pm ET on CBC Newsworld
On the night of Barack Obama's historic inauguration, Dreams of Obama examines the rich personal and political biography of the 44th president of the United States.
Through interviews with insiders and observers who've tracked Obama from his days at Harvard Law School, through his rise in Chicago politics, to his emergence onto the national scene after the 2004 Democratic National Convention, Dreams of Obama chronicles Obama's meteoric rise, pushing beyond the headlines to reveal how he won one of the most memorable, and important, presidential elections of our time.
Along the way, film maker Michael Kirk examines how Obama's life experiences made him uniquely suited to launch a successful campaign to become the first black president of the United States. The film offers insight into how Obama may lead the country and asks what his election says about the U.S.
A co-production between Kirk Documentary Group and WGBH Frontline.
