THE PRIZES
GRAND PRIZE: The overall grand prize winner will receive a professional photographer’s package from Nikon Canada, featuring the new Nikon D7000 digital SLR camera, capable of capturing still images in 16.2 megapixels and video in full 1080p. The package also includes two lenses, the standard 18-105mm VR lens, as well as the new 55-300mm VR lens, and an SB900 external flash and DSLR sling knapsack.

BEST IN CATEGORY: In each of the 3 competition categories, the Best in Category winner will receive a COOLPIX S8100 digital camera, from Nikon Canada.
RUNNER-UP: In each of the 3 competition categories, the Runner-Up will receive a free subscription to Harrowsmith Country Life Magazine.
Selected finalists may also be featured in online galleries, photo exhibitions and official contest calendars. By entering the competition, the photographer grants free of charge usage of their photograph to the CBC for promotional purposes related to the competition. However, all photographs remain the property of their respective photographers.

Guest Judge: Ron Erwin
For the past 20 years, Ron Erwin has been translating his love of nature and passion for photography into photographic images of Canada. He lives and works with his wife and partner Lori in the Scarborough Bluffs neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario.
Sharing an enthusiasm for nature and adventure, they travel extensively photographing, exploring and observing Canada’s landscape and wildlife from coast to coast. His work has been used commercially and in corporate interiors, and appears regularly in books, magazines, and calendars. Ron’s work is represented by All Canada Photos, Getty Images, Alamy, AGE Photostock and Veer. Ron is a Professor of Photography and Digital Imaging at Seneca College.
