Carbon Hunters

The carbon trading market is worth billions but what does a carbon credit actually buy? And can carbon hunting save the planet? Have you ever bought carbon credits? Are you planning too? Let us know what you though about this film.

Carbon trading is the whole point of the Kyoto Accord. How can you have a documentary on this subject and not question the validity of the basic underlying assumption? "Cap and trade" is a goofy concept, and the fault is not with "cowboy carbon traders" - the fault is with Kyoto. Let's stop the nonsense and spend the money on research.

This idea is perverted. It's just a means of profit for those that value money over the health and welfare of every living thing on the planet. Just reward businesses that do clean up production and continue to penalize those that don't. Industry only cares about profit margins. Hit them harder where it hurts. Do not allow any industry to maintain the status quo on pollution.

If somebody really wanted reduce emissions, set a reduction level for all industries. If that company does not achieve their target, freeze trading of their stock and garnish the dividends. Then apply the funds to that company's emission reduction program. Just think of how much pressure that would put on a company to achieve goal when all the investors really want the target met too.

I enoyed watching "Carbon Hunters" because it presented many stories from across the globe that I was previously unaware of. The problem is that like many documentaries that try to present a balanced approach it leaves the viewer uncertain of the best course of action to solve the given problem. I am in the process of creating a new internet company that aims not only to be carbon neutral but carbon negative and would very much like to know how I should go about achieving that goal.

Carbon credits are a short term solution to a long term problem.

Ideas such as ingesting fertilizer into our world's oceans offer, again, short term solutions to long term problems. What we are not informed about is what the long term devastating effects of performing such a task are. This will ineviatbly affect the oceans ecology and will most likely result in the loss of numerous life forms. What will happen when the algae blooms get out of control?

GHG emmissions, polution, and energy consumption are similiar to planned parenthood in that abstinence is the only true preventative measure.

A great example is the Oil Tycoon from Texas wanting to help the environment by buying land in the rainforest. How about start by reducing his own carbon footprint? Maybe he could trade in the Hummer for a more fuel efficient vehicle or downsize from the sprawling mansion that utilizes copious amounts of energy to heat and light.

Myth: Carbon Dioxide is a pollutant and causes global warming.
Truth: CO2 is actually extremely beneficial to the environment. It is NOT a pollutant and it is NOT the cause of climactic change or global warming! The rise and fall of the Earth's temperature intermittently over various periods of time is absolutely NORMAL! What Al Gore and the man-mad global warming alarmists fail to tell people is that CO2 levels increase AFTER the earth's temperature increases NOT before. In other words, temperature increase CAUSES CO2 increases not the other way around. Regardless, CO2 is NOT a problem and is NOT a pollutant.
What is more remarkable is that this popular belief is perpetuated by otherwise sober sources of information such as the CBC and even some governments without it seems the slightest regard for actual scientific evidence which clearly and unequivocally prove the contrary. An excellent source for overwhelming scientific FACTS which refute this disgraceful alarmist propaganda can be found in lectures given by Prof. Bob Carter of James Cook University, Queensland , Australia and in the very informative film - Global Warming or Global Governance. In this film a multitude of highly esteemed and recognized scientists with NO AGENDA dismantle the man-mad global warming mythology piece by piece so that even the meanest of intellects can see without a doubt that the human effects on climate change are impossible to logically postulate.
If the CBC news programs purport to represent an unbiased viewpoint, then I insist that as a Canadian Citizen who pays taxes which in part fund the CBC we see a balanced discussion on this incredibly important topic. If you choose to broadcast such proven FICTION as The Inconvenient Truth then it is also incumbent on the CBC to broadcast the opposing viewpoint - in this case the REAL and ACTUAL SCIENCE that can be found in the film Global Warming or Global Governance and cited in numerous other studies all readily available through a simple search of the internet.
Thanks you your time and I sincerely hope I receive a reply.

The same people who have killed cleaner fuel alternatives are going to tax us for what they have resisted. The whole idea of paying taxes to a foreign body is like having a leech attached to your brain to solve humours. As Canadians we should fight this UN-Corporate-conspiracy as we would any controlling-invading outside force.
