Nancy Daniels wrote: | It was a very interesting perspective, after having watched it live as it played out, to hear peoples thoughts and feelings during the crisis brought it back into focus as it should be something we never forget. |
Bill Klos wrote: | The horror of the moment was captured. |
Jeff wrote: | This is a powerful film, I remember the day it happened, seeing it all unfold on live TV, truly emotional and memorable. |
Toospicy wrote: | This was very moving. I thought i seen all the videos of this event. I was wrong. It was a horrible horrible day. I just wish they had a better ending. Still a very moving documentary. |
cheryl Sneath wrote: | I don't know how anyone could watch that video and still think that they detonated the tower. It obviously fell from the top down, and any explosions out the side were merely the result of the weight falling in on itself and imploding. The falling of the twin towers was a true tradgedy. Let's hope we learned from it. |

Ray wrote: | Great job showing the perspective from people on the ground that we never got to see on the day of the disaster. The human story telling in 102 kept me engaged from start to finish. |
Zachary wrote: | This was a very interesting documentary. I can't even imagine what it would have been like to be in the middle of such a situation. |

Donna McMillan wrote: | I watched the news on 9/11 when this all happened and almost everything that I could since then. This documentary was absolutely incredible and i applaud those who put it together. The one thing that I am absolutely convinced of however, especially after watching this is that the World Trade Towers certainly did not fall because of strutural problems as the American authorities would have us believe, but imploded as if there were a well-orchestrated demolition strategy in place. I believe that the buildings were set to explode, therefore imploding and that we will never ever hear the real story of what happened here. I believe the Bush government has kept it secret what actually caused those buildings to implode and keep it secret so the world will not know how absolutely incompetent they were and continue to be. What a horror! And, this catastrophic event certainly did change the world as we know it forevermore. |

Secondly I know a lot of people think that the Americans Think they are better, But when their country is attacked, by mother nature or other things, Who do we call? The Americans right away. It's the Americans that help many people throughout the entire world. The rest of the world should say thanks to the Americans. To those responsible, I personally do not believe in the death penalty However in this case I hope they find you and crucify you upside down for the world to see what happens to people like you |
Jeannie Elizabeth Hansler wrote: | I have many thoughts, I feel this video account was sensored, and sensationalized focusing on the trama of the whitnesses, and at the end the revenge this terrible event seemed to spur in people is just what it was designed to do . War was the consequences of these events. I still to this day feel that the act of terror was hand in hand with the destruction of the towers by the leaders of Uninted States to re enforce the legitimacy of declaring war on the Middle East. I truly feel we are only shown what the news media are allowed to show, and I feel they are censored by Big Brother. All to keep us in fear so they can do as they will because as long as we are living in fear we can be controlled and convinced the shots that are called are in our best interest. I have no faith in the media and certainly less in the leaders of our country. |
Chuck Egboka wrote: | This was a remember that we should always be vigilant against people that have intentions of commiting terror acts for whatever purposes. My heart still goes out to the people that lost their loved ones on that day. Kudos to the people, countries and agencies involved in seeking out terrorist havens and destroying them, and also to those who work day and night to prevent any further attacks. |
Kitlope wrote: | Excellent program. Nice to finally see a show on 911 that doesn't focus on the politics or conspiracies. Highly recommended for everybody. |
Adam Normand wrote: | This was brilliantly put together. This is a perspective of 9/11 that I have only imagined, but never actually seen. As a Canadian, as a fire fighter, even as a mere individual, this documentary affected me in many ways, and in some that I cannot even try to explain. Almost a decade ago, and the moment still seems real. The same terror and fear of that day has been reborn in me and it makes me wonder what we should expect of this world today? 9/11 wasn't expected, but what about now? We have been forever changed as a people, in the Western world. And althought our lives have found new routines since the event, almost a decade ago, it is crucial that we remember. Lest we forget that the greatest benefit that we can still reap from this tragic event, and the dramatic documentary presentation of it, is that we cannot lose strength and we cannot let fear overcome us. With the strength that we have shown as Westerners, we still hurt when we think of that day. Just remember the strength of those fallen, the living and dead victims of 9/11, the living living loved ones of the people victimized by this event, the brave emergency personnel and volunteers acting as heros in selflessness. Remember that we are as strong as those people, because of those people. The spirit of society and the notion of closeness and brotherhood during and after 9/11 proves that although we may never obtain justice for this attack against us, we are strong, we are brave and we are undefeated. We are one as a people and one still stands. |

D. Coulas wrote: | Once again your world class documentaries captured the essance of what has defind America even today. A city and nation stunned by what was unfolding before them . The look of horror and disbelief of people starring into a smoke filled sky trying to find one and then two towers which were there just a second ago and then disappearing into a plume of smoke. So surreal that there minds couldn't accept what there eyes were seeing . The courageous fire fighters running towards the second tower which would become there grave; And the anger of New Yorks citizens against the perpetraitors of this heinous crime . You brought out feelings which are still raw, sitting just beneath the surface of our skin and penetrating into the depths of our soul, and a reminder of a war which still rages on today with no end in sight . |
Jacob Rempel wrote: | Canada is part of the two wars that are said to be fight the terrorists. It seems that these aggressive wars have killed many thousands (100,000 plus) of non-combatant men, women and children, and caused millions of refugees the lose homes and even their countries). As well, the wars have motivated many more thousands to become "terrorists" and many others to support the Taliban. Does anyone still believe the US and Canada and NATO are fighting a just war? Might a Neurnburg Court We need to remind ourselves that Yugoslavia, Iraq, and Afghanistan never attacked the US or Canada or any NATO country. We invaded them. How to prevent terrorism like the years of terrorism against the USA and Russia and the supporting allies? Let them bring home all their soldiers from more than a hundred countries. If they want resources in other countries, let them get such resources with honest and fair business arrangements. If that is not possible, go home. |

H.M. wrote: | Wow, that was terrifying, shocking and tragic. Once again, I felt those horrible emotions, I felt on that day - fear, trepidation, disbelief, shock, anger! What a horrific day that was! This was an amazing doc! When Breakfast TV host, Kevin Frankish announced a plane had crashed into the WTC - not even he believed it - in spite of the hole and the smoke! I certainly didn't believe a whole plane could have made that small hole crashing into a building. I thought it was wrong, a mistake in reporting. Later, when I switched to CNN, Aaron Brown was remarkable as we both watched in disbelief as the second plane entered the tv frame and seconds later, the 2nd tower. We were both in utter disbelief at what we had just witnessed. I hate that this happened and so many died and many people are still affected but I am grateful it wasn't tens of thousands more. I will never forget that day. When the weather conditions are right, I always think about it. |

Troy Hedrick wrote: | This documentary reminded me that 9/11 is not just a date that we remember. People died horrific deaths. The terrorists that committed these crimes have become famous, but I choose to remember those who fell. Not only the people who were doing their best to save the lives of those who were trapped, but those who just went to work that day having no idea of their fate. I am a Canadian man, but this sort of terrorism affects all of us who live in the free world. We all need to stand up againts religious fundamentalism. At home and abroad. For centuries it has only led to war and death. When will the sensless killing stop in the name of faceless gods?? |
So Many Questions Unanswered wrote: | Interesting documentary... Well done CBC Docs. I appreciate the very human approach taken in its story-telling. The presentation stirred up many emotions for me. It was difficult to see so many people feeling helpless and in awe of what they were witness to on that memorable day. I propose a challenge to CBC though... I challenge you to move further than just the happenings of the collapse of the Twin Towers. I believe you have an opportunity to investigate many more serious, unanswered questions about the events that followed this disaster. I challenge you to delve further into the physical and emotional impacts 911 had on the people of the United States. Analyze the happenings and consequences of the subsequent choices made by the Bush administration and its agencies- Iraq, Patriot Act, etc. Why did the EPA prematurely report that the air quality in Manhattan was safe and people could return to their homes, and work... that emergency workers, firemen and volunteers could continue to sift through the rubble without proper protection when independent testing showed air quality continued to worsen and become toxic in the days after the collapse- Why are hundreds of these selfless men and women left to suffer from crippling health ramifications and financially unsupported and ignored by their government? Who is talking to them? What are they saying? Why, 8 years later, are over 900 professional architects and engineers, and more than 6000 supporters demanding that congress launch a truly independent investigation into all three WTC collapses? I challenge you to examine the significance of the unreported collapse of WTC Building 7. Instead of just providing your usual sanitary, "balanced" reporting... why not attempt to discover answers to these statements? ‘I remember getting a call from the, er, fire department commander, telling me that they were not sure they were gonna be able to contain the fire, and I said, “We’ve had such terrible loss of life, maybe the smartest thing to do is pull it.” And they made that decision to pull, and we watched the building collapse.’” I believe that logic, facts and scientific evidence can impact people who previously clung to the official story, which was inculcated through the mainstream media moments after the planes hit the towers. There is a story to be told and CBC could be a pioneer. |
Yocep wrote: | I was shocked as millions of others were, but when I discovered several weeks later and not through the conventional media that Tower 7, the Saloman Brothers Building, a 47 story building, sank in 6 seconds at 5:25 P.M. and no airplane hit it, I became very suspicious of the whole affair. |
Frank Martens wrote: | I'm still waiting for my comments of Sunday evening to be posted, but just in case they got lost in the CBC cyberspace I'll repeat some of them again. I have read nearly every good book published on 9/11 including the 9/11 Commission Report; Griffin and Scott's 9/11 and American Empire: Intellectuals Speak Out; have at hand nearly every video made on the subject; and belong to the Architects and Engineers for Truth group. In an attempt to create considerable dramatic effect, the CBC portrayal of the incident avoided once again, along with a much earlier documentary denying any conspiracy theory, to answer any questions that would bring the blame of this atrocity where it belongs--on the Bush and Cheney administration and the falsification of evidence at very high levels of government in Washington DC. To the commentators on this site who have not read the books, and who have not seen all the videos put out by the Architects and Engineers for Truth--you simply don't know what you are talking about. I sympathise with the widows and widowers of all the people that died in 9/11. And I ask you commentators, why is it that the wives of all the firemen and police that died that day have formed a group to question the American government's misbegotten report on 9/11. They were a lot closer to the Twin Towers and building 7 then any of us. |
Graham wrote: | I would highly recommend the book written by two reporters from the New York Times entitled "102 MINUTES". It reconstructs minute by minute the events of that day using both survivors recollections and all manner of audio communication both official and civilian. It shows how modern building codes enacted prior to the construction of the towers played a part in how the towers came down. Conspiricy theorists will find answers to all their questions. Sometimes the truth is as mundane as a blueprint or a need to create more retail space. It also focuses on the long standing emnity between the police and fire departments that only added to the chaos of the day. Can't recommend it enough. |
Marianne B. wrote: | This documentary was well done. My eyes lit up in disbelief from actually seeing what really happened within that timeframe. There are so many questions after reading everyone’s comments, it just seems like there’s something missing, something hidden. Seeing this documentary make me experience a little too how it felt being there in person. I can’t even imagine the horror, I cried while my body stayed in still. |

Thank you. Carole |
