The Colour of Money

October 22, 2008 11:39 AM

Cold, hard cash has never been more important to winning the American presidency. The price tag this year - a whopping one and a half billion dollars, the highest in U.S. history. The Colour of Money takes us inside the Republican and Democratic presidential campaigns to see who's dishing out the money and how much.

Money from Wall Street and Hollywood with support from US liberal media and academe allows Obama to outspend McCain 4 to 1. That should buy Obama the White House, right?

Fortunately in Canada that formula only buys Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, and NL. I prefer Canadian democracy over the US version.

I totally agree with you Al. This year Obama is buying the White House with the media lap dogs licking him all the way there.

The documentary that we just saw was another one-sided love fest for Obama. It praised Obama supporters' success with viral marketing campaigns while not mentioning that the most successful viral campaign of the election is actually a Republican one: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/us_elections_2008/7699509.stm .

It talked about Obama's crowds but no mention that the Republicans had the most watched convention in history or that Palin's drove as many to TV debates as Obama. The biggest losers in this election are the media who have lost almost all credibility and the people who think that either Obama or McCain will make big change. Good luck USA.
