Nov. 14/08: Leavin' on a jet plane.....

Hello nation.

It’s Marcy.

And I’m getting ready to take-off.

Literally: because this is my last week guest-hosting DNTO.

And figuratively: because this week’s show is all about the airport.

I have to say- my big highlight was doing the opening of the episode over the P.A. system at the Winnipeg Airport.

They let me talk on the big mike! It was awesome!

I felt like a high school principal…but one that everyone listens to because they might miss their flights. Super fun.

As for taking off from DNTO…

I’m going miss it.

Perhaps I’ll be back one day.

My highlight has to be how I gained a new appreciation for the insanity that is my life.

Who knew that my family, friends and general emotional instability would generate programming content?

Anyway- I had a great time here.

So let’s make this departure quick and painless.

Not like the long, mushy goodbyes that get shared between teenagers after a weekend bonding at the Terry Fox “Encounters with Canada” experience…

You know the ones.

You cry and utter some snotty statement through the tears about staying friends forever and how you can’t believe that people could get so close in JUST THREE DAYS!!!!

Let’s make this more like the goodbye that happens when you’re a teenager running out of the house to go to a hot party.

You know the scene.

When your parents are hanging out the door for a last word and you’re like—

“Yah- whatever. blah- blah-blah- bye” Then you gasp for dramatic effect…

Gasp.

See ya Canada- I’m heading back to the morning show in Manitoba.

If you’re ever coming through…tune me in.

Marcy.

P.S. The DNTO baton is now being passed to a Canadian original.

A national treasure. Mr. vintage Street Cents, Jonovision, Trailer Park boy...

Jonathan Torrens will be here next week! And the show is all about siblings... so pull your sister's hair close to the radio and punch your brother in the arm to remind him.

That's next week- on DNTO.
