On October 31st, 1517,  Martin Luther started the Protestant Reformation by tacking his famous ninety five theses to the church door.

He then translated the Latin Bible into German, making it directly accessible to his fellow countrymen.

Kelowna's Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church continues the tradition.

It was established by German speaking refugees after the Second World War.

Madonna Hamel speaks with Pastor Patricia Giannelia about why she conducts services in German and English.
