Nelson church auctions ancient Nigerian bottle

This bottle, originally from the Nigerian port of Old Calabar, is being auctioned off on eBay as a fundraiser for the St. Savior Anglican Church's men's club. (eBay)
The St. Savior Anglican Church in Nelson, B.C., is auctioning off this unique-looking bottle on eBay.

It's story is a fascinating one. It's believed the leather-bound bottle is from the legendary Nigerian port of Old Calabar.

A handwritten tag reads: "Brought from Old Calabar by the Rev. Geo Faulds ca. 1890. Given me by Geo. F. Stirling, Victoria, B.C. Centre of bottle was originally covered with antelope skin. JRT."

So how did it get here? Greg Scott, with the St. Savior Anglican Church's men's club, explains to Daybreak host Chris Walker.
