Decision to close popular walking trail divides Fort St John

City workers in Fort St. John are planning to rip up a popular trail in town. City council voted in favor to decommission the East Bypass walking trail because it is considered hazardous.

However, some Fort St. John residents are protesting the closure and have started a movement to keep the popular trails open.

Fort St. John mayor Lori Ackerman and protester Pat Ferris joined Daybreak North to talk about the issue.
