Shirley Bond takes hope from surprise Alberta election results
Christy Clark and Alison Redford may not see eye-to-eye on everything, but the B.C. Liberal leader may be hoping she has one thing in common with her eastern neighbour: the ability to surprise the pundits. After a series of high-profile exits this week, experts don't see much hope for the Liberals to form government next year.

Bond remains optimistic
But Prince George-Mount Robson MLA Shirley Bond, who is already Minister of Justice and Attorney General and now acting Finance Minister, remains optimistic. She joined Betsy Trumpener this morning to explain why she plans on running in the next election, and why she doesn't think it's a given her party will be sitting in the opposition chairs.

More on pit bulls
We are getting lots of listener comments on the question of breed specific legislation, particularly the issue of whether pit bulls should be targeted as a dangerous dog. This story has been covered by other CBC BC programs as well. One of the most interesting is this analysis from On the Coast's Matthew Lazin-Ryder of whether there is a media bias against pit bulls. Take a listen to his conversation with Stephen Quinn:

Book Panel: Books for men
Today on our Book Panel, we discussed Books for Men. Here are our panelist picks from the Prince George Public Library's Andrea Palmer and Erin Pfliger. Listen to the discussion before, and click on the book titles for more information from the website Goodreads.
Andrea started out with "Men behaving badly" and recommended The Outlaw Album by Daniel Woodrell:

Erin's first pick was Born to Run by Christopher McDouggal, an inside look at the secret world of intensive runners and superathletes.

Andrea's second pick was pop-culture writer Chuck Klostermann's latest, the Visible Man.

Finally, Erin put forward the pop culture phenomena and graphic novel The Walking Dead from Robert Kirkman.

Bonus! Our stock guy Steve Boker recommends the work of Wilbur Smith.
