Talisman Energy gets 20-year water license for Williston Resevoir

The B.C. government has quietly approved a long term water permit so Talisman Energy can frack for gas. For the next 20 years, the company can pipe water from the Williston Reservoir to its shale gas wells near Hudson's Hope. This license doubles the amount of water Talisman has been trucking out already.

Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives researcher Ben Parfitt has been watching this closely, and he joined Daybreak host Robert Doane to tell him about his concerns.

Please note: in the week leading up to this interview, the CBC repeatedly asked for an interview with the provincial minister responsible for water permits. Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations Steve Thomson repeatedly replied he was not available for an interview.
