Class pets die in elementary school blaze, classes cancelled

250 elementary school students are not in class in Prince George today following a fire at Highglen Montessori Elementary on Monday. Classes had finished for the day, but an after-school program was underway when the fire broke at around 3:30 p.m. Students and staff were evacuated, but a number of class pets were left behind. And officials are unsure as to when students will be back in class, and whether it will be in Highglen. School District 57 superintendent Brian Pepper speaks with Betsy Trumpener.
