Checking up on checking
In Quebec, young players are not allowed to body check until they are in Bantam
Or 13 and 14 years old.
In every other province, players can start body checking in Pee Wee , for 11- to 12-year olds.
It looks like Quebec's rules are making a big difference.
That's according to a study out today in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
Researchers found Pee Wee players in Quebec are three times less likely to get hurt, than players in Alberta.
