HIV in Canadian prisons
HIV rates in Canadian prisons are about 15 times higher than infection rates in the general population.
According to the The Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network the per centage of prisoners infected with HIV rivals that of some countries in Africa.
And life with HIV inside the walls is different from outside.
Daybreak's Jesara Sinclair went inside those walls, to La Macaza Federal Institution.
She spoke with Douglas Foreman an inmate who has been living with HIV since the mid-80s.
