Paul Frappier's father remembers his son
Over the weekend we heard about the death of Paul Frappier, known on the Montreal Music scene as Bad News Brown. Paul's body was found shortly after midnight Saturday morning near Richmond and William streets in Little Burgundy. He'd been murdered. Montreal police say they can't determine whether he was stabbed or shot until they see the autopsy report. He was 33, a hip-hop harmonica player, self-taught, who'd gone from busking in the metro to making his own disc and opening for Snoop Dog, 50 Cent and Kanye West. Paul's is an extraordinary story. Not least because he was adopted shortly after birth from an orphanage in Haiti. By a Quebecer named Pierre Frappier, his dad.
