Daybreak's poet laureate

He is a Quebec Writers Federation award-winning poet and author of the collection: A Complete Encyclopedia of Different Types of People. Take a listen to the poem he wrote for us.

Pots and pan-demonium

Bar owners caught in the middle

quartier latin merchants.JPGIt has been a hot weekend in Montreal, with protesters and police squaring off downtown repeatedly and violently. That's despite the emergency legislation passed by the Charest government on Friday aimed at putting a stop to the protests. CBC's Tanya Birkbeck was in the Quartier Latin both Saturday and Sunday nights and she joined us live with a debrief. And Mike spoke to two bar and resto owners who got caught in the middle.

Collecting pop tabs for a cause

tab braelets.JPGJonah Hoppenheim is a 13 year old on a mission to collect a million tabs from metal soft-drink cans. He plans to trade them in for hospital equipment. So far he's collected over 300, 000 tabs.
Shawn Apel spoke to both Jonah and his mother Sharyn live in the Daybreak studio.

C2-MTL conference

SID LEE.JPGA revolutionary business conference is taking place right here in Montreal. Tomorrow is the first day of C2-MTL and its organizers are saying that it will reinvent the global business conference.
