Suing Hollywood: Does Argo demonize Iran?


After winning Best Picture at this year's Oscars and Golden Globes, Argo's accolades have been rivaled by criticisms surrounding its historical accuracy. Controversial French lawyer Isabelle Coutant-Peyre is taking it a step further. She's launching a lawsuit against the makers of Argo on behalf of the Iranian government. Best known for defending and then becoming the romantic partner of convicted terrorist Ramírez Sánchez, aka Carlos the Jackal, Coutant-Peyre is taking on Ben Affleck and the producers of Argo for allegedly distorting Iran's image in their portrayal of the 1979 hostage crisis.
