This week, Forest Ethics, an environmental group, gave up its charitable status to be able to focus on political activism.
Last week David Suzuki announced he was stepping down from the board of the foundation that bears his name -- so as not to threaten its charitable status. The backdrop to these moves is increased scrutiny of environmental groups by the federal government.

Brent spoke with Tzeporah Berman, a Canadian eco-activist. Brent also spoke with Vivian Krause, a Vancouver-based researcher and writer. Krause writes extensively about environmental charities in Canada and their sources of funding.
