On Friday, Aghamohammadi told state-run news agency IRNA that the project would conform to Islamic principles. "We can describe it as a genuinely 'halal' network aimed at Muslims on a ethical and moral level," he said.
He added that the aim of the network would be to "increase Iran and the Farsi language's presence in what has become the most important source of international communication." He also hoped it would improve trade links between his country and the world.
