Contest Rules
 
TO ENTER
 
To enter Day 6's weekly Big 6 contest (the "Contest"), go online to http://www.cbc.ca/day6/thebig6 between November 20, 2010 and December 31st, 2010 to enter. To enter, you must nominate and/or comment in one of the 6 categories. The winner of the contest will receive a CBC prize package, and will be drawn at random on a weekly basis.
 
Along with their contest submission, contestants must include their full name and contact information (to ensure contact with winner).

The online entry mechanism will open at 10:00 a.m. ET Thursday November 20, 2010 and close Friday December 31st, 2010 at 8 p.m. ET.
 
To be valid for the week, a fully completed entry form must be received by noon ET every Monday (the "Contest Closing Date").
 
All valid entries will be eligible to win the prize. The odds of winning the prize are directly related to the number of valid entries. No purchase required.
 
Entries received through online voting shall be deemed to be submitted by one person who is the holder of the CBC Member Centre account. Entries cast using shared CBC Member Centre accounts or entries using automated voting will not be considered valid entries. Use of voice recognition software for the visually impaired is permitted for manual entry, so long as it is not used to automate entry. We reserve the right to disqualify any vote during the contest process that attempts to automate voting, share accounts or otherwise cheat. The contest hosting company monitors the system for abuse and this rule will be strictly enforced.
 
Online entry forms become the property of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (the "CBC") and will not be returned to contestants.
 
ELIGIBILITY
 
This contest is open to all Canadian residents who have reached the age of majority within the province or territory in which they reside at the time of entering the Contest.
 
Directors, officers and employees of CBC, each of their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, parent companies, partners, licensors, distributors, divisions, agencies, and their immediate families (parents, children, siblings, spouse) and members of the same households (whether related or not) are not eligible to participate in this Contest. 
 
PROCEDURE FOR AWARDING PRIZE
 
Every Monday at noon ET, a random draw will be conducted among all eligible entries received prior to the Contest Closing Date.
 
The winner will be contacted by telephone or email. If contact cannot be made with the winner within four days of the initial contact attempt, they will forfeit their prize and a random draw will be held and a new winner will be drawn.
 
DESCRIPTION OF PRIZE
 
The winner will receive a CBC prize pack.
 
GENERAL RULES
 
5.1 To be declared winner, the contestant must nominate their choice in one or more of the six categories of The Big 6.
 
 
5.2 If any prize cannot be awarded as described in these rules, CBC and their affiliates, as well as their respective directors, officers and employees, reserve the right to substitute a prize or prize component with another of comparable value.
 
5.3 Refusal to accept the prize releases the CBC of any and all responsibility and obligation toward the winner.
 
5.4 Should any contestant make a false statement, he/she shall be automatically disqualified from the Contest.

 
5.5 The CBC shall assume no liability resulting from losses, delays, mistaken addresses on mail or e-mail received, typographical errors, technical, computer or telephone malfunctions, loss or theft of computer or telephone data, damage to software or computer equipment, fraudulent calls or any other mistake.
 
5.6 The CBC shall assume no liability whatsoever for any situation in which their inability to act results from an event or situation unforeseeable or beyond their control, including a strike, lockout or any other labour dispute at their location or the locations of the organizations and businesses whose services are used to hold this Contest and/or in connection with any prize awarded.
 
5.7 All personal information, such as name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and age is collected solely for the purposes of administering this Contest and shall not be used for any other purpose without your consent. By providing this information, you consent to it being used for the stated purposes.
 
5.8 By entering this Contest, contestants agree to abide by the Contest rules, which shall be applied by the CBC. All its decisions are final.
