The CBC's Susan Ormiston has been in Afghanistan for the past two weeks — her third visit to the war-ravaged country — reporting on the current election and gathering material for a more in depth look at the country down the road.

In the course of this visit, she has found herself the only woman at an election rally high up in the mountains of central Afghanistan and only minutes away from a suicide bomb attack on the outskirts of Kabul.
