Can you cackle? Are you free from cat allergies? Willing to stay overnight in a cave?
Then you can put your name forward for a job as the resident witch at Wookey Hole, a cave turned tourist attraction in Somerset, England.
The part-time job pays an annual pro-rated salary of $94,000 Cnd. According to the job posting, the successful applicant will greet visitors and go about "the everyday life of a witch — showing visitors what it was like to live in the dark ages in a cave."
Legend has it that the original witch inhabited the caves in the dark ages until she was turned to stone by the Abbot of Glastonbury for souring the milk and spoiling crops, according to the Guardian.
The job came up after the previous witch retired, Wookey Hole spokesman Daniel Medley told the BBC.
"We are witchless at the moment so need to get the role filled as soon as possible," he said.
Auditions are scheduled for July 28, during which applicants will have to demonstrate their cackle and a knowledge of witchcraft.
"Ambitious witches, looking for a key career move, should turn up dressed for work and bring any essential witch accoutrements," according to the job posting. "A limited range of potion ingredients will be available."
While the posting makes it clear a woman is wanted for the role, it states that the position is open to men, women and trans-gender witches in order to comply with sexual discrimination laws.
