This recall involves three miniature paperboard books, each with a plastic handle designed as a baby rattle. The white handle contains multicoloured rings.

The "animals" book title is green and has a photograph of a stuffed bear. The "numbers" book title is red and has a photograph of a stuffed monkey. The "colours" book title is multicoloured and has a photograph of a stuffed blue dog with a white eye patch.

The styrofoam material used to affix the plastic handle/baby rattle to the book can become separated from the book binding when chewed or pulled at. The releasable pieces of styrofoam pose choking and aspiration hazards to infants and young children.

Health Canada has not received reports of illness or injury to Canadians as related to the use of these books.

Consumers should immediately take the recalled books away from young children and return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.
