Mastercraft cordless battery chargers recalled over burn risk
- April 9, 2010 11:28 AM
- By Charlene Sadler
Health Canada has recalled about 75,000 Mastercraft 18V Battery Chargers for Cordless Drills because the chargers can overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers.
The chargers were sold at Canadian Tire outlets. This recall does not include the 1-hour version of the Mastercraft battery chargers.
There have been reports of minor damaged caused when a charger overheated, but there have been no injuries.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled battery chargers and contact the manufacturer Techtronic Industries for instructions on getting a free replacement charger.
For more information, see Health Canada's recall notice here.
