About 4,000 children's bracelets sold under the brand name Garage have been recalled because they contain excessive lead levels.
The string bracelets come with square beads and can be identified by the style number 54-9748 and the following three SKU numbers: 7316410 (colour 250 Mystery Blue), 7316510 (colour 420 Pop rock pink), 7316310 (colour 000 Black).
The Antique silver bracelet comes with a silver key and a white textile rose and can be identified by the style number 56-9992 and the SKU number 7372010
Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has revealed that these pieces of jewellery contain lead in excess of the allowable limit. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.
Neither Health Canada nor the distributor Groupe Dynamite Inc. has received reports of incidents or illnesses related to the use of these products.
