Dorel recalls Maxi-Cosi Mico Infant Car Seat and Base
- February 9, 2010 4:22 PM
- By Charlene Sadler
Dorel has recalled its
Maxi-Cosi Mico Infant Car Seat and Base after reports that the seat may not fully lock when placed into the base in the car. There is a potential that the seat could separate from the base in the event of a collision if the seat is not locked into the base, although there are no reports of separation or injury to date.
Dorel Distribution Canada and Transport Canada have indicated that consumers may continue to use the product until the repair kit is received.
However, users are advised to verify that the base release handle is fully retracted each time the seat is placed onto the base.
About 6,930 units of the recalled infant seats and 298 additional bases were sold in Canada.
