Nokia recalls chargers over risk of electric shock
- December 2, 2009 11:28 AM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
Nokia has recalled 75,000 units of certain power chargers because of the risk of electric shock.
The recall is coordinated with the Electrical Safety Authority. There is a risk that plastic covers of the affected chargers could come loose and separate, exposing the charger’s internal components and potentially posing an electric shock hazard if certain internal components are touched while the charger is plugged into a live socket.
Consumers are advised to exchange the chargers where they were purchased.
Consumers in Canada can call the Nokia contact centre toll free at 1-888-226-6542 between 9am-5pm EST or visit http://chargerexchange.nokia.com.
