Roman blinds recalled over strangulation risk
- November 25, 2009 4:17 PM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
About 1,795 roman blinds have been recalled by Health Canada because they pose a strangulation hazard for children.
The blinds by Vadain International have a loop of the inner cord on the backside of the roman blinds that is too big. A child could place their neck in the exposed inner cord loop.
The blinds were sold across Canada at Home Depot stores between July 2009 to October 2009. No incidents were reported.
Consumers can return the recalled blinds to their nearest Home Depot store to receive a free replacement blind with the cord stoppers already installed.
