About 500 Bandsaws were recalled by Grizzly Industrial Inc. of Bellingham, Wash., because some don’t have a grounding wire installed, which poses an electric shock hazard to users, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.
The recall involves the G0640X 17-inch metal/wood Bandsaw with an inverter motor. The product’s model number (G0640X) is printed on the front of the machine.
No incidents or injuries have been reported.
The Bandsaws were sold on Amazon.com and at Grizzly’s showrooms, as well as through the company’s catalogue and website, from February 2008 to July 2009 for about $1,600 US each.
Consumers should stop using the recalled Bandsaws immediately until the repair kit is installed. The firm is sending repair kits directly to consumers.
