Health Canada is recalling plush baby bottle holders sold under the brand name "Lunchbox Bottle Pets" because products that allow infants to feed themselves without supervision are illegal.

Such products can result in infants choking on or aspirating the feeding liquid. Unattended infant feeding practices are discouraged by Health Canada and Canadian professional medical associations.

The recalled bottle holders come in several models:

· Pablo the Monkey
· Emma the Cow
· Willie the Frog
· Lefty the Turtle
· Isabella the Pig
· Fern the Octopus
· Jerome the Lion
· Bo the Panda
· Alex the Leopard

The product is designed to have the baby bottle inserted through the body of the plush animal.

Neither Lunchbox Goods nor Health Canada has received reports of incidents or injuries.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled baby bottle holders and return the recalled products to the retail store where it was purchased for an exchange or full refund.

Approximately 2,577 of the holders were sold at various stores across Canada starting in January 2008.
