Health Canada is recalling a Have a Ball! Adventures cloth book for children, sold under the eebee's brand, because it poses a choking hazard.
The interactive activity book has a small cloth ball attached to a string, which children use to complete activities in the book. The English-language book is intended for children between ages nine and 36 months. The recalled book has ISBN 13:978-1-4027-5771-6 printed on a white tag attached to it.
The string attaching the ball to the book can pose a strangulation risk to young children, Health Canada said.
About 43 of the books were sold across Canada between June 2008 and June 2009. They were manufactured in China and imported by New York-based Sterling Publishing Co.
Parents or caregivers should take away the book from children immediately and return it for a refund to where they bought it. Consumers can call Sterling Publishing at 1-800-367-9692 for more information.
Health Canada said it has not received any reports of injuries from the books.
