Health Canada is recalling tea sets sold at Chapters/Indigo stores across Canada because the handle on the pot may detach, posing a risk of injury.
The Serene tea set includes a round light blue teapot with a lid and wire handle and four light blue tea cups without handles. The recalled tea set can be identified by UPC 773426605875.
The importer, Accents de Ville of Markham, Ont. has received one complaint from a consumer of the handle breaking off of the teapot and causing a burn.
Health Canada has not received any reports of injuries or incidents related to the use of this tea set.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled tea sets and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Approximately 438 of the recalled sets were sold at Chapters/Indigo stores across Canada from March 2009 to May 2009.
