Rossignol Nordic ski boots recalled over fall hazard
Tuesday, July 14, 2009 | 11:21 AM ET
Health Canada and the U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission are recalling Rossignol Nordic ski boots because the soles on the ski boots may separate from the upper boot during use, posing a fall hazard.
The recall includes Rossignol X-IUM and X-11 nordic (cross-country) ski boots that were sold under the following model names: X-IUM World Cup Skate, X-IUM World Cup Classic, X-IUM World Cup Pursuit, X11 Skate, and X-IUM J Skate. The model name is printed on the upper boot.
Boots included in this recall have a five- or six-digit lot number stamped in the right boot under the removable insole.
Ski boots without a lot number printed in the right boot under the removable insole are not included in this recall.
Rossignol, Health Canada and the U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission have not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these ski boots.
Approximately 936 pairs were sold in Canada and approximately 1,912 pairs were sold in the United States from December 2007 to June 2009.
Consumers should immediately stop using the ski boots and contact Rossignol to determine if they're included in this recall and, if so, to receive a free replacement or a refund.
For more information, consumers may contact Rossignol at 1-800-267-7547 or 1-450-378-9971 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET.
