Refrigerators recalled over faulty doors

Health Canada has announced the recall of about 1,800 Viking refrigerator and freezer units because their doors can detach.
The recall affects side-by-side refrigerator/freezer units and built-in refrigerators with bottom freezers by Viking Range Corporation.
The affected refrigerators come in a variety of colours, including stainless steel and wood finishes. They are built into kitchen cabinetry. The affected refrigerator/freezer units are approximately 122 centimetres wide and the refrigerator units with freezers on the bottom are approximately 91 centimetres wide.
The affected models have the following model numbers and date codes (shown in a month/day/year format):
- VCSB481, VCSB482, DDSB482, DFSB482, DTSB482, DDBB362, VCBB360, VCBB362, DFBB362, DTBB362, DTBB363 All units.
- VCSB483, DDSB483, DFSB483, DTSB483. Date codes before 030104.
- VCSB483D, DDSB483D, DFSB483D. Date codes before 030105.
- VCBB363. Date codes before 111605.
- DDBB363. Date codes before 112305.
- DFBB363. Date codes before 041006.
There have been 57 reports of doors detaching, and four reports of injuries involving bruises, broken toes/fingers and strains. Health Canada also said there have been several reports of minor damage to floors and counters.
Users are advised to immediately stop using the recalled refrigerators "if the door is not sealing properly, is sagging, or does not open and close properly."
If there are no issues with the door, people can use the refrigerators until a repair can be done.
