A number of Kenmore gas barbecues are being recalled because they present a fire hazard when improperly assembled, Sears Canada has advised
The affected products were manufactured by Fiesta Gas Grills LLC but sold at Sears Canada retail stores as well as through the Sears Canada catalogue between March 2007 and December 2007.
The affected model numbers are C172-30744, a liquid propane model that sells for $599.99. Also included in the recall is C172-30754, a natural gas model that retails for $649.99. The model numbers can be located on a rating plate on the rear of the grill and the Sears item number is printed on the sales receipt.
Neither Sears Canada nor Health Canada has received reports of injuries or incidents related to the use of these barbecues. Sears Canada urges customers who own the affected gas grill to cease use immediately and contact Fiesta for information on how to obtain a free grease pan assembly and instructions for installing the parts.
