Small Wonders teethers recalled because of bacteria contamination

Health Canada announced the recall of around 3,800 water-filled infant teethers because they may be contaminated with bacteria.

The liquid filling inside the recalled Small Wonders teethers is contaminated with the bacteria Bacillus cereus, Health Canada says. While the bacteria generally does not cause illness, it can affect children with weakened immune systems.

The teether is a multicoloured water-filled ring with two hard white plastic bands. The affected teether can be identified by style number 3810 and UPC 627174038105.

There have been no reports of injuries or incident associated with the use of the product.

They were sold nationwide between June 2007 and June 2009.

Consumers are advised to take the teether away from children. They can contact the distributor, Tendertyme, at 1-866-593-3729 for more information.
