The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Macy's Merchandising Group have announced a joint recall of 33,000 hooded sweatshirts that pose a strangulation hazard.
The Epic Threads and Greendog hooded sweatshirts have a drawstring at the base of the hood on the sweatshirt, which is a strangulation risk to children.
The Epic Threads sweatshirts are white, grey, maroon, yellow, blue, green and black, with images on the front and/or back. The girls' Greendog sweaters are brown and grey. Only sizes small and medium are subject to the recall.
There have been no reported injuries associated with wearing the sweatshirts.
The affected sweatshirts were sold throughout the United States between July 2008 and March 2009.
Consumers are advised to either remove the drawstring or stop using the shirt and contact Macy's at 1-888-257-5949 for a full refund.
