BattEQ Battery Equalizers recalled over fire hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling BattEQ Battery Equalizers over a fire hazard.
The recalled battery equalizers are charge balancing devices designed to increase the performance and longevity of rechargeable batteries. They can overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers.
About 800 were sold a authorized distributors and retailers in the United States from July 2006 through March 2009 for about $300 US each.
Consumers should immediately stop using these recalled battery equalizers.
