Toy beach chairs by Build-A-Bear Workshop recalled over laceration hazard

Health Canada is recalling toy beach chairs by Build-A-Bear Workshop because a child's fingers or skin can get caught between the folding legs of the chair, causing pinch and laceration hazards.

The recall involves various toy beach chairs intended as accessories for plush toys sold at Build-A-Bear Workshop. The toy beach chairs feature a folding wooden frame and a solid coloured or striped canvas seating area. Some styles include an attached pillow.

Consumers should immediately stop using the toy beach chairs.

Consumers can exchange the toy beach chairs at their local Build-A-Bear Workshop store for a coupon valued at $10.

Approximately 9,700 of the chairs were sold in Canada, and approximately 260,000 in the United States at Build-A-Bear Workshops nationwide and online.

They were sold from March 2003 to October 2008 in Canada, and from March 2001 to October 2008 in the United States.
