Health Canada is recalling Restore and Rejuvenate eye cream because it contains a high number of bacteria, including Myroides spp. This bacteria is known to cause infections through ingestion or open wounds, and is more likely to infect individuals with lowered immune systems.
The recall involves eye cream, sold in 15ml and 30ml containers. The recalled product can be identified by UPC code 832726000169.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled eye cream and dispose of it in their regular household garbage.
Approximately 465 units were sold at Whole Foods, Choices markets, and other retail stores in British Columbia and Ontario. The recalled product was also sold online at www.liferoot.com.
The eye cream was sold from May 2008 to May 2009.
