Health Canada has recalled a number of girls nightshirts sold exclusively at Sears that do not meet government-mandated flammability requirements.

The recall affects P Jammers girls nightshirts sold from children's sizes 8 to 16. The polyester shirts are green with blue sleeves and have the words "Peace and Love" emblazoned on the front.

They can be identified by the item number 53242, which can be found on the Sears price ticket and receipt.

Health Canada warns that as the shirt does not meet flammability requirements, it may cause severe burns to the wearer's body if inflamed.

The affected shirts were sold at Sears retail stores nationwide in April and May 2009. Health Canada says it is not known how many shirts are affected.

Consumers are advised to stop using the shirts and contact Sears for information about a refund.
