Asquith & Somerset brand coconut cream body moisturizer recalled over high bacteria count

Health Canada is recalling Asquith & Somerset brand coconut cream body moisturizer because it contains high numbers of bacteria, including Pseudomonas putida.

This bacteria is known to infect wounds and cause eye irritation. Individuals suffering from compromised immune systems are more vulnerable to infections caused by Pseudomonas putida.

The moisturizer was sold in a brown 250ml shallow container and can be identified by the lot number AA005 and the UPC code 639136675907.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled body moisturizer and safely dispose of it in their regular household garbage.

Fewer than 910 units of the products were sold at Winners and HomeSense stores in Canada between December 2008 to April 2009.
