Undeclared egg protein in certain Laurentide brand chocolate Easter figurines
- April 6, 2009 11:37 AM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
The Canadian Food Inspection is warning people with allergies to egg protein not to eat certain Laurentide brand chocolate Easter figurines because they contain egg protein which is not declared on the label.
The affected chocolate figurines are decorated with eyes that contain egg protein.
The figurines are packaged in see-through plastic bags with the Laurentide brand, ingredient list and company contact info, as well as a sticker with the Nutrition Facts table. The packages do not bear a UPC or lot code.
These products have been distributed in Quebec.
