Best Buy Co. Inc. of Richfield, Minn., has recalled about 1,400 Rocketfish portable power sources because they could unexpectedly ignite while the user charges the battery, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says.
The company has received three reports of fires resulting in minor property damage. No injuries were reported.
The Rocketfish Model RF-INV80 Universal AC/DC/USB portable power source has model number RF-INV80 printed on the back and Rocketfish on the cover.
About 90 were sold exclusively at Best Buy stores across Canada and through internet sales from September 2008 to February 2009.
In the United States, they were sold at Best Buy stores and at bestbuy.com from July 2008 through February 2009 for about $100 US.
Consumers should stop using the devices and contact Best Buy to receive a gift card for the value of the product.
Consumers can call Best Buy at 1-800-233-0462 between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. CT daily.
