Korean-made rice puffs may trigger allergic reactions

People with allergies to peanuts or sesame seeds are being warned not to eat Choripdong brand biscuits (rice puffs), the Canadian Food Inspection Agency says.

The ingredients that may trigger allergic reactions are not declared on the label.

The rice puffs were sold in British Columbia and Alberta, but it's likely the product was distributed nationally, the agency says.

All codes of the Korean-made product, sold in 280-gram packages bearing UPC 8 809000 435056, are affected by this alert.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the product.

People can call the Canadian Food Inspection Agency at 1-800-442-2342, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET, Monday to Friday, for more information.
